Victory Over the Enemy- Weapon of the “Word”

Regardless of what branch of the military you may serve in, you’re job is not easy. However, I have good news this morning. You can have victory over the enemy! When you go to war, the enemy is sneaky and will try to attack when you least expect it. Today, I want to let you know that if you’re saved and covered by the blood of Jesus, you’re not just a soldier in the greatest army in the world, but you’re a soldier in God’s army!

Well, I want to tell you today that we as Christian soldiers, we are fighting a battle every day against our enemy Satan. He’s sneaky, he’s a liar, he’s a thief, he’s no good, and he’s out trying to catch you off guard so he can attack you! We must be wise to his schemes, and ready to use our weapons of attack or be defeated. Yes, he will take over your camp and it won’t be peaches n cream, I promise!

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to give you 5 spiritual weapons of attack that you can use to overcome the enemy when he strikes. If you learn these weapons, the devil can’t touch you. However, I offer to you a word of warning! If you haven’t been enlisted in the army of God as a Christian soldier, then the enemy is quickly approaching and he’s going to attack whether you like it or not. You must make sure that you’ve made Jesus Christ your commanding officer, submitting yourself to Him with unquestioning obedience.

Ask yourself, am I a soldier in God’s army? Am I a Christian soldier? I’ll go ahead and tell you, if you’re not or if you don’t know, then today is your day to decide who you will serve. God or the enemy? “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:4 NKJV). “Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evil doer, even to the point of chains; but the Word of God is not chained. Therefore, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the Salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (2 Timothy 2:7-10).

The scripture reveals to us that the Apostle Paul was writing to Timothy telling him to be strong in the faith. Teach others what I’m writing in my letters. Endure hardships as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. You will be persecuted, but endure it, even to the point of chains.

The Bible says the devil is like a roaring lion walking around seeking whom he may devour. The devil is our enemy and he wants to destroy each and every one of us. We must become aware of the fact that he is around. He is the enemy that we must overcome!

The first weapon of attack against Satan I want to give you t is the weapon of the “Word.” When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert for forty days, Jesus quoted scripture to Satan. When Jesus referred to the Word and told Satan to get away, he had to leave. Satan had no other choice because the power is in the Word! The Bible says that the Word is alive and active. It’s as sharp as a double-edged sword.

Jesus gave His soldiers(Christians) the authority to use the weapon of the “Word” against the enemy. As a soldier in God’s army, when we use the “Word” against Satan, it consumes him and he is crippled. He can’t even hardly stand so he flees. For example, when the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future by quoting scripture from the book of Revelation. A lake of fire will be his eternal home!Weapon of the "Word"

So, my blog is based on true life events and experiences that I’ve faced since I truly said yes to God in answering the call to ministry. Once you say yes to God, the devil knows what you’re up to! He knows that you’re going to be reading the Word and studying hard to better serve Jesus. The Devil Rides Piggy Back is quickly becoming the novel I was hoping it would be. Some of my posts sound like I may be bashing certain people, but trust me, I’m certainly not. The point of this book is to demonstrate that ministry isn’t easy, and that you need to be prepared for Hell to attack you. I ask you all that if you know someone who has been called to preach, and is struggling to get out there, send them to my blog. I’d love to speak with them and share what I’ve learned along the way! God is good all the time, and even in the bad times! The devil may try to get a free ride, but Jesus can whip him in a heart beat! Alright friends and followers, anyone you know who is been called to preach and trying to get started, please send them my way and tell them to click the follow button!

Thanks Everybody! Got to go! Time to go sing!

The Products Worth

So, minister, I ask you again. How does one truly define the value of a particular product or service? As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Your product is Salvation! No, you’re not selling forgiveness, but you understand the connection I’m trying to make. You are preaching the infallible Word of God, and you must convince people they need Jesus! It is imperative that they accept Christ as Savior so they can inherit eternal life in heaven, or be damned to an eternal burning Hell.

Jesus lived as a man on earth for a little over 33 years. The interesting thing is the fact that Jesus basically lived to die. The blood of goats and rams would no longer do. Only one lamb was worthy enough to make a lasting sacrifice. Only the blood of the Lamb of God would do! Christian means to be Christ-like, not devil-like! It’s time for people to get their lives in line with what they say they believe!

As a minister, it’s your job to preach the love of Jesus. The thing is though, you must stay in tune with Jesus, and His plan for humanity. After reading this novel, you can see that the devil will be knocking on your door, if he isn’t already. The Holy Spirit must be your best friend! You must make room for Him in your life. You must always let Him lead you in your call to ministry. Read the Bible and study it. Meditate on the Word daily! Take time to get alone with the Holy Spirit. I’ll share a bit of knowledge with you. Remember Jesus said that where two or more are gathered together in His name, He would be in the midst. Realize with me that when you are initiated by the Holy Spirit to witness to someone, that Jesus is there! Although you may fear rejection by the person, the fact remains, you are not alone!

You must also take time to get alone with Jesus. You must have a personal relationship with Jesus. Many of us say we’re not about religion, and all about a relationship with Jesus. The sad fact is, many of us have a rotten relationship with our Savior. This ain’t no fairly tale! Jesus wasn’t just a good man. He’s my King, my Savior, my Redeemer, my Father, and my Friend! He has the very number of the hairs on our head numbered. He thinks of each of us as many times daily as the number of grains of sand on the earth. He gave His all for us, and many of us won’t even worship. It’s not a necessity for Christians to go to church on Sundays is a popular modern day belief. However, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and the Bible says forsake not the assembling of yourselves together! For any person to say Jesus didn’t really die for me personally is horribly deceived.

Jesus was whipped and beaten beyond recognition. Each time Jesus was hit with the whip by the soldiers, there was a mark left behind. There was a scar in the making, and it had your name on it! Jesus paid the price for our sin. The sinner must understand that Jesus loves them, and it’s your job as a minister to make that happen. The price God was willing to pay reveals the worth of the product He saw! We, His creation, He loved us beyond our ability to comprehend. We are the product that He was willing to pay the price for, and the price God paid was the life of His Son Jesus.
